Founded in 2009, Los Angeles-based independent publisher A Barnacle Book & Record made its literary debut with two sold out limited edition pre-releases of Joseph Mattson's novel of transgressive loss and hunted redemption, Empty the Sun, featuring an "open-road, open-whiskey" soundtrack by enigmatic and stunning Drag City recording artist Six Organs of Admittance.
Due to critical acclaim in both musical and literary circles, Empty the Sun has since been slated for wide release in a Trade Paperback Original Edition to be published September 2010, followed by Barnacle's eagerly awaited catalog of literary fiction, memoir, photography and "audio/visual."
